01 Dec Special General Meeting – Friday 10th December 2021, St Marks Church Hall, CV32 6DL @ 1930hrs
Dear Members,
All members are invited to a Special General Meeting to consider proposals to extend the mains water provision. Plans and costings will be made available over the next few weeks and members potentially affected by the works will be consulted.
The committee has been meeting regularly since being elected en bloc in June, and we thought we would update you on progress.
Plot inspections were carried out in July and August and 10 plot holders have been contacted to tidy up their plots, especially where invasive weeds have the potential to cause a nuisance to neighbouring plot holders and 6 plots are being monitored. Where cultivation has not been apparent since the inspections in May, 11 determination letters have been sent out, and we have subsequently been able to offer plots to the 15 people on the waiting list. 3 plot holders have had an extension until the end of the year to evidence that they wish to continue cultivating their plots. There seems to be a resurgence of people interested in growing their own, and we have a small waiting list again.
We have applied for a £1500 grant from the Town Council to aid with augmenting the planting, and increasing species diversity within the Butterfly Garden, and also to purchase 10 No Water Troughs towards the 17 No in total needed for the water project. (If the water project doesn’t go ahead we can use the funds towards other projects)
We hope you can join us on 10th December, we are planning to provide mulled wine and mince pies, and the hall should be sufficiently sized to accommodate a good number of members and yet maintain social distancing.
