Payments by cheque to Binswood Ex Serviceman’s Allotment Society or by BACS to account number available on request.  Please mark payee as “Binswood” with your name as reference.

REGULATIONS

Each new member is given a copy of the Society’s Bye-laws. We hope members will cultivate their plots with the minimum of inconvenience to other members.

We ask members to keep their plots reasonably free of weeds and rubbish and to ensure that the paths between the plots are trimmed to allow easy access.

Occasional bonfires are permitted but care must be taken to ensure that smoke does not cause a nuisance to nearby houses or to other gardeners.

Data Privacy Notice

This Notice explains how the Committee members of the Society look after your personal data.

Personal data means any information about an individual from which that individual can be identified.

We collect, use, store and transfer some personal data of our members. We are the data controller,

responsible for the processing of any personal data you give us. We take reasonable care to keep

your information secure and to prevent any unauthorised access to or use of it.

The Committee uses your data to:

• Administer the affairs of the Society (e.g. collect rent, manage plots, maintenance activities)

• Communicate information about the Society’s events (e.g. social) and other similar events

(e.g. local horticultural)

• Hire Society tools and equipment

• Arrange seed, manure and other ancillary purchases

• Apply for funding (in this case sharing anonymised data only) with a funding partner if it is

necessary for grant funding (e.g. Local Authority)

The above activities also require us to share information with a limited number of other members who

support the Committee.

You provide(d) information about yourself when you register(ed) with the Society, and by filling in

forms (e.g. at an event or online), or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise.

The information may include your name, address, e-mail address, phone number and gender.

We will inform you before using your data for any other reasons than those set out above.

Our lawful basis for processing is the administration of our affairs and performance of our obligations

under our bye-laws or under a contract, or your written consent.

We will retain your information while you are a member and only for longer than that if it is reasonably

necessary to administer the affairs of the Society (e.g. collect unpaid rent).

You are not obliged to share your personal data with us, but if you choose not to share it we may not

be able to administer your membership.

You have the right to:

• Be provided with the data that we hold relating to you

• Rectify / update data

• Ask us to remove data

• Restrict or object to the processing or portability of data

• Object to our use of your data
